Offered for auction is a super 8mm 5" reel (~150-175') of the AC-8 travel film  "WONDERS OF NEW YORK CITY" in color with subtitles released by Columbia Films.  It is an ex-library edition (acquired in  late 1970s) and the film looks to be in at least good shape.  It was transferred from a public library to the drama department of a local institution.  There it was stored for many years in an air conditioned basement floor.   I have viewed many of them and, of these, most are in good (or better) shape as far as I can discern with the projector I am using.   The color films often have some very thin black lines which are visible throughout.  The box has typical library marking and tape (the box bottom does not match).

The film starts with a
long black lead in directly to the scene Around Manhattan in which there is a Circle Line ferry ride past the Statute of Liberty and then up the East River to Wall Street.  Next are views of Trinity Church and graveyard, United Nations headquarters, Mid Manhattan, General Motors building, St. Patrick's cathedral, R.C.A. building, Empire State building, City Hall and Washington Square, a view of Central Park from afar, a carriage ride in Central Park, New York Museum of Natural History, Lincoln Center, Central Park Zoo, baseball at Yankee Stadium, and finally closing at Times Square.

NOTE: The color in this film (typical for this era) showed some fading and warming but there was both blue and a bit more green to be seen.
