X6x series of ThinkPad is ideal for on-the-go users who need an ultrathin, ultralight notebook. However, all X6x laptops are officially shipped with normal TN LCD panels, which are notorious for dull cold colours, narrow viewing angles and poor contrast levels.
Fortunately, there are a few models of 12.1" XGA and SXGA+ Flexview/IPS screens which well fit ThinkPad X6x. See the following picture for instance. Spot the difference between an X60 (right) fitted with IPS/Flexview screen and an ordinary X61 laptop with TN panel (left). Note top left is the original picture.

A problem during the mod is that all 12.1" ISP/Flexview screens have completely different LCD cable/pin definitions, i.e. you can not use it by simply replacing the original LCD panel of your X6x laptop.
Here we offer an solution: a convert cable. This cable is exactly what you need to let these beautiful screens work with the X6x laptops. This cable connects the original LCD cable and the Flexview/IPS screen with correct cable/pin definitions.
This listing is for a piece of convert cable only. It does not include the original LCD cable, nor the IPS screen etc. Each cable has been fully tested before shipping, so buy with confidence.
Note that such a screen DIY project requires high skills of disassembling laptop screen and modifying LCD parts. It is not as easy as upgrading memory modules. So it is the buyer's responsibility to use the cable correctly, although I am glad to offer help such as instructions at any time.
I am writting a Step-by-Step guide to help those who want to build their own ThinkPad X6x laptop with IPS screen at http://ithinkpad.wordpress.com. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
