"The Postal Van" Original Illustration from Wildwood When Prue is in a bind, she looks to her friend and the postal van to aid in her escape in this New York Times bestseller written by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Carson Ellis. Colin Meloy is the singer and songwriter for the Decemberists. Carson Ellis is an accomplished illustrator of children’s books, including some in the Lemony Snicket series. Her lovely illustrations have received rave reviews. "The Postal Van" appears on page 256 of Wildwood. "She felt the shocks of the van lighten as the surface changed from rough gravel to smooth paving stones. The engine shuddered into high gear, and the mail van picked up speed." page 251. 12" x 8", gouache and ink on paper, signed by the artist, Carson Ellis. This illustration was kindly donated by the artist to help raise money for Skyline school. Proceeds of this auction will help to keep vital programs and teacher positions intact for Skyline K-8 in the 2013-2014 school year. In addition, a percentage will go toward an equity fund to help other schools in the Portland district through All Hands Raised. |
