Up for auction is an ASTOUNDING Museum Quality Ming Dynasty Bronze Statue of Budai.  The statue dates from the 15th to 16th century of China, the time periods of the Xuande Emperor through the Wanli Emperor, and depicts Budai as the Maitreya Buddha.  Here Budai is depicted in his old age with prayer beads in his right hand and holding a sack of his worldly possessions in his left hand. He is depicted seated upon an Imperial Throne with dragon finials and a central crest of the Xingchen - a star constellation symbolizing Chinese sovereignty.  The throne is attended by child servants and underneath the seat resides a pot of gold coins.

This statue is one of the best we've seen with quality and detail that are unsurpassed.  The statue shows signs of very old age (over 450 years), as well as old in-country repairs.  Please see the all of the photos for exact condition - overall the piece is museum ready and ready for public display.  The statue is 100% authentic and is guaranteed to be a Middle Ming Dynasty Antique dating between the 15th to 16th centuries!  The statue measures a large 8.25 inches tall and 5.75 inches wide including the stand.  The stand is custom made of hard wood.  The piece was acquired from a private dealer who is a consultant for many important museums across the United States and was once part of the Dorothy Tapper Goldman Collection.  A few pieces from her collection sold for many tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars at Christie's in 2011, and this piece was part of that original collection.  A similar buddha of a younger age and lower quality also sold at Christie's in 2007 for $51,000 (see link below).  This piece is sure to have great investment potential for the future.

The piece is guaranteed to be 100% authentic for the lifetime that you own it.  You are sure to be fully satisfied.  We will ship worldwide.  Please let us know if you have any questions.  Also, please do not hesitate to make us a best offer!
