About the collector

I have been an avid collector and (if I may be so vain) connoisseur of audiophile equipment for a number of years. Now in my more mature years, we (well mostly “she who must be obeyed”) have decided to trim down my collection of over 50 headphones. A good number will be recognised by many as audiophile quality, but others less so. For example; I have up for sale in my other auctions headphones such as House of Marley Exodus on-ear phones. Few people would class these as “audiophile”, but I admit to be influenced by style and the Exodus phones are a very unique mix of wood, leather and re-cycled aluminium. I was so taken by them I bought both the Mk I and the Mk II editions. So basically I collect not just what my critical ears appreciate, but my eyes too. As it turns out, the Exodus phones in my opinion produce quality of sound beyond their price bracket. I have for example had the misfortune of auditioning my son's pair of Ludacris SL300WB headphones which he bought for $320. Not only did the Exodus embarrass the SL300WB's in the sound department, they were half the price.
