Here is a Gorgeous Vintage c1940’s-50's Mid Century Signed Original Color Aquatint on Satin titled “Arlberg, St. Anton” (Tyrol, Austria), by the world famous listed aquatint artist ‘Hans Figura’ (Austrian, 1898-1978), whose signature appears hand written in pencil lower right beneath the image. The title appears on the info tag which is taped on the back of the piece, and it is also written in pencil lower left in the outer margin corner. This Aquatint was purchased directly from the artist by Walter Meibohm, who worked with Mr. Figura personally post WWII and maintained a friendship with him until his death in 1978. Hans Figura was one of two famous aquatint artists to come from Austria, and he is most well known for his European and American landscape & cityscape aquatint etchings. He has exhibited his aquatint prints and original oil paintings in various cities & venues worldwide. The other famous aquatint artist to come from Austria was Luigi Kasimir (Austrian, 1881-1962). The Aquatint is in Excellent Rare+ condition for its vintage age with No Color Fade! This Aquatint has been in a drawer in our archives since it was purchased by the Meibohm family and hasn’t seen the light-of-day in all this time…It’s as beautiful as the day it was printed-Simply Beautiful! The Aquatint was drymounted some time ago to a stiff backing matboard stock & outer margins trimmed in preparation for being framed, but was never framed. The size with margins is 11-11/16” x 14-3/16”, and the Image size is 8-7/8” x 11-11/16”. No Tears, No Creasing, No Foxing to the Aquatint & No damage at all in the image area. Slight normal fraying along the outer margin edges which are completely negligible since the margins can easily be matted and framed out. Slight toning of the satin from age and from being drymounted to the matboard. This will make a wonderful addition to any Hans Figura or art collection.

Due to the Antique/Vintage nature of MOST of our items, at our discretion we ship items flat or in heavy-duty tubes and they are securely & safely packed with each item wrapped in packing paper or archival glassine, then secured in between oversized cardboard or rolled in a heavy duty tube, then bubble-wrap is added, as per the item's specifications. Smaller items (like postcards & small prints) will also be securely & safely packed with each item wrapped in packing paper or archival glassine, then secured in between oversized cardboard, then shipped in a bubble-lined envelope.
