This 1983 BMW R 80 RT was bought  new by me, I have had the privilege of riding every one of the 75,951 miles that are on it. The battery is brand new. The license are good for two years here in Oregon. I will be referring to the photos a number of times. When looking at the photos you will notice that the bike is setting a little low! Because, I am 5 foot five with the 26 inch   inseam, the original seat hight is about 31 inches, that made it a very tall for me. I was aware of this before I bought a motorcycle, so within the first week of owning it, I removed the stock shocks, installed air shocks, and A, S&W on board air compressor, so that I could control the height by raising and lowering the air pressure, the switches for the front and rear shocks are on the left  handlebar, refer to photos, The front fork legs have their stocks springs. The center stand has been shortened, So when I come to a stop, I would be dropping the air down, hook the center stand with my left foot to bringing it down and continue dropping the air. There also is a cable operated gauge, for the swing arm to tell me how high or low I AM. This gauge is a cable  operated  Volkswagen Gas gauge It has worked really well for me and my wife in the past 31 years, 90% of our riding was going to rallies and touring the country, with a lot of freeway miles. In all the western states, AS far east as Arkansas, and 300 miles or so north into Canada, and south to Tijuana Mexico, In the seventies and eighties I worked at a motorcycle shop, I have been a mechanic most of my life, I have done all the maintenance on this BMW except for a couple of tire changes. Mechanically the bike is in excellent condition and ready to head for the BMW National rally. The seat is a custom Daylong saddle. There are some gravel chips on the front of the fairing and a couple of other chips on the paint like the one in the photo, on the right rear of the gas tank in front of the seat and one on the tail piece behind the seat, the Reynolds rack and back rest of that era folded back away in order to lift the seat, look at photo, There also is a trickle charger that will go with. I would HIGHLY recommend a new set of tires!!! These tires are at least 8 or10 years old,?! Old tires on a motorcycle are not the best!!  Because a rubber on any tire will harden as the years go BY!!  And hard rubber gives you less traction. I AM IN MEDFORD OREGON
