Display
SXGA + IPS display with 1400x1050 resolution. 
No pixel errors, pressure marks, scratches or any other defects. 
Stock brightness, no signal interference, clean installation.
Display hinges are in good condition.

Motherboard, CPU
Fresh thermal paste and cleaned fan.
Modified FSB to run at 266MHz (stock is 200MHz). 
Processor runs at 2.4GHz (original processor is 1.6GHz L7500).
Modified speaker to allow touchpad installation.
Modified USB connection to use one of external USB ports for touchpad and leave 
the extra mini pci port free for additional cards.
Dial-up modem has been removed.

Memory
Memory: 2Gb (1 bar), SPD rewritten (modified to work with the 266MHz FSB). 
Runs at 714Mhz (original 667MHz)
Intensively tested with memtest86, no errors.
Second dimm slot is free for future upgrades. 

Palm rest and touchpad
A touchpad from the official supplier of Lenovo. Supports scrolling, two finger tap, 
pinch to zoom, circular scrolling, corner tap and many other functions of modern touchpads. 
Fully customizable through a software from manufacturer.
Palm rest is wrapped with custom leather vinyl decal. Clean installation, no bubbles, 
detached edges etc.
The original trackpoint is working as normal. Both options are available at the same time.

Heat
The heat under idle is close to stock. Under heavy load test about 5-7C higher than the 
original. Actually, heat is now similar to a stock 1.8GHz with L7700 processor.
Normal temperatures when using for daily tasks (office, internet etc). Gets hotter
when watching HD videos on youtube, but still within the norms.

Keyboard
Fn and Ctrl buttons are swapped on the keyboard (can be easily swapped back). 
Function is configurable from the BIOS.
The layout is QWERTZ (Swiss). Covers French, German and English keys.
I can change it to a QWERTY / Hebrew if necessary.

Visual state
Very clean, no cracks or hard scratches, only minor signs of wear.

Summary
The machine is very robust. Feels much-much faster than original 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz, 2.0GHz machines.
The body, on the other hand, remains the same thin X61s.
The screen is amazing, high resolution 4x3 is very good for web browsing and other tasks.
Some old-school Thinkpad fans prefer trackpoint to touchpads, but once you start using
this touchpad you will love it. The circular scrolling is amazing. The experience is close to mouse wheel!
