"Pine Shark" 7½ inches long, 6 inches at his tallest fin. This little man eater is carved on one side only. Signed and dated: N. Tuttle 6/27/15 ~
This is an original and one-of-a-kind carving made from driftwood, naturally smoothed by the sand and sea of the Pacific Northwest Coast. I collect driftwood during and after the winter storms then carve this wood using rotary grinding tools and small knives. I give each of my wood spirits a rustic patina using a stain I create from oil paints then finish up with a polyurethane spray. After twenty-nine years of woodcarving I still get a kick out of collaborating with Nature to create these crazy characters!
