This great Ivan Hlad Brac Tambura, Tamburitza, or tenor guitar, was made by the one and only Mr. Ivan Hlad on March, 15th, 1940 in Chicago!
The date was both stamped on the label and on the bracing(see pics).
It was very well made by the master luthier with all solid wood, spruce top and the one piece flamed maple with tree rings looks very nice.
Not to mention the inlay decor.
It is in good condition considering how long it has been around. The headstock had been repaired as you can see there is a
hairline crack marked. Also there is one crack near the left edge (see pic) which was also fixed. There are paint checks also
as you can see, but not the wood.
It needs a new set of string and that's it. It should be in the hands of someone who could bring out the heart and soul of this
great piece of art by Mr. Hlad. You can either configure it to be a 4 string tenor guitar like shown, or a 6 string Brac Tambura. All sounds great!!!
It comes with its original hard case, a little rusty but protects the instrument very well.
