This boat is one of the last of a long line of Cornish, Looe built 16 foot 'Doodlebugs', remembered to have been built in a week, yes a week, with materials salvaged from commercial boat building yards operating out of Looe. The 'Fulmar' is believed to have been built some time during the 1970's. A very solid construction, they were intended for and served for many years the tourist self drive hire trade.

I am selling this now as time has got the better of me, there are two holes port and starboard just under the waterline under the bow, where they always go, which need either plugging or for a proper job, scarfing in, photo's are included. I have taken all the paint and anti-foul off so there will be no hidden surprises, as we all know paint hides a multitude of sins. Overall the hull is solid, it is stored undercover but spends most of the time on the water, where it should be. Some of the ribs internally could do with replacing, nothing needing immediate attention, I have a few spare and will not need them anymore, so I'll put them with the boat if you want them. The central post supporting the seats needs replacing also.

The boat comes WITHOUT a trailer, you will need a trailer of sorts to pick this boat up, I can assist with loading, pushing, supervising etc .

All the deck boards are present, as are the 'locker' hatches and rudder/tiller arm.

The boat comes with the original Stuart Turner 1.5hp R3MC 2 stroke engine, shaft, stern gland, prop and sea water inlet. The engine bed and shaft are perfectly aligned. The engine runs a treat and was used last season, I took her out to replace all gaskets, and complete a general seasonal overhaul. You'll have to make up a silencer if you want one, I used copper pipe and brass elbows which I can also put into the boat if you want them to fashion an exhaust pipe.

Thats all I can think of for the moment, any questions please ask, its a good honest boat with the repairs required all stated, viewing welcomed ... pick up only!

I have 100% feedback and will be as honest and fair with you as is possible.

The original oars are also included but not pictured, they are in good condition. I must point out that the starting handle for the engine is tatty, it will require a new one to be made up or purchased.

There is also a wooden engine purpose built cover included. I'm adding things as I think of them!

There is a fuel tank inside the locker aft, with original Stuart brass cap and tap, I never used this, preferring to have a small portable tank strapped to the side of the Stuart engine. There is a copper pipe feed from the original tank to the engine bed position if you prefer to utilise this method. I have never used the original tank as I say, I kept a small amount of oily fuel inside it just to prevent rot and condensation, however, I cannot say for certain if it does or does not leak!

I have just measured the boat and it is just shy of 15 feet in length, I was told it was 16 feet many years ago and have never had a reason to check this until now, it must have been built using a traditional Cornish tape measure back in the day ... the beam is just over 5 feet at the widest part and whilst I think of it, these little boats were licenced to carry 6 persons, which they do with no problems.

I have some documentation with this boat, I'll dig it out ...
