Saint Dominic Bronzed Statue Friars Dominican Figure
Saint Dominic was the founder of the Friars Preachers, popularly called the Dominicans. He is the Patron Saint of Astronomers. His mother had a vision while pregnant that her unborn child was a dog who would set the world on fire with a torch it carried in its mouth; a dog with a torch in its mouth became a symbol for the Order which he founded, The Order of Friars Preachers, also known as the Dominicans.
This cold cast resin statue depicts Saint Dominic teaching the rosasy, a dog with a torch in its mouth by his side. The statue stands 8 1/4 inches tall, is 4 1/4 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches deep. Made of cold cast resin, it has a metallic bronzed finish, and has hand-painted gold accents, to give it the look of metal. It makes a great gift for Catholics.
