Up for auction is this vintage (c. 1948) model 232 pro alto sax by Holton. Good vintage condition, original lacquer c.90%, couple tiny dings but no dents, dent work, or ugly solder repairs. The horn was disassembled, cleaned, rods straightened, posts aligned, toneholes leveled, installed all new Music Medic tan kid pads with flat metal resonators and new corks/felts, reassembled and adjusted for optimal playability. Built like a tank with great ergos, warm, dark tone and good intonation - nice engraving, too! Comes with original neck, mouthpiece, and period case with keys . Please see

I believe that vintage clarinets represent one of the most underpriced and underutilized resources on the market. While there is some junk out there, there are many makes and models that are good to excellent players if properly overhauled and that will provide satisfaction to collectors, students and even pro players while saving the buyer hundreds of dollars! Nickel and grenadilla wood are increasingly finite resources and the craftsmanship on some of these old horns makes them a real pleasure to own.
