You're bidding on a photo CD I have made of 104 extremely rare slides that I own of the New York Central Railroad's long-gone Putnam Division, as I have just added 4 more photos to this cd making it a super deal.  Most slides were photographed by the late Frank Schlegel.  He was one of very few people who photographed this line.  Passenger service on this line started in 1871, and ended on May 29, 1958.  Most the photos were scanned from original Kodachrome slides.  The photos cover the line from the Bronx through Westchester County to the end of the line in Brewster.  The location of the shots are in the file names and dates (if known) are on the disc.

Photos shown are:  1) Putnam Division train just arrived at Brewster station in March 1958; 2) Harlem Branch train from Grand Central Terminal via Golden's Bridge approaching Lake Mahopac Jct. in March 1958 lead by RS-3 #8323; 3) NY Central RS-3 #8260 southbound on a snowy morning entering the Briarcliff Manor station in March 1958; 4) The last passenger train pulled by RS-3 #8259 arriving at Yorktown Heights station on May 29, 1958 (photo Peter McLachlan); 5) NY Central 2-6-2 #861 southbound at Eastview in 1942; 6) two steam trains meet at Eastview station in 1942; 7) steam train approaching the Woodlands station in June 1945; 8) Ardlsey station in April 1963 [sandwiched between the NY State Thruway and the Saw Mill River Parkway]; 9) Graham station [opened in 1931 when the line was rerouted to eliminate the trackage through Pocantico Hills] which was supposed to have indoor plumbing with a ticket office and waiting room, but was never more than what you see in the photo; 10) NY Central RS-3 #8276 northbound at Briarcliff Manor in May 1958; 11) NY Central RS-3 #8277 northbound at Briarcliff Manor in May 1958; 12) arriving at Lake Mahopac station in March, 1958 (station is currently in use as an American Legion).

Locations included are: in the Bronx Sedgwick Ave. of the final departure, W. 234 St. & W. 238 St., Van Cortlandt Park; in Westchester county at Park Hill (Getty Square branch), Lincoln, Dunwoodie, Bryn Mawr Park, Nepperhan, Gray Oaks, Nepera Park, Mt. Hope, Chauncey, Ardsley, Woodlands, Worthington, Elmsford, Eastview, Graham, Briarcliff Manor, Millwood, Yorktown Heights, and in Putnam county at Lake Mahopac Jct., Lake Mahopac station, Mahopac freight station, Crafts, Carmel and Brewster.  I just added a 1996 view of the Yorktown Heights station (photographed by me) with a Penn Central caboose next to it [the caboose has since been relocated to the Danbury Railway Museum], as well as post card views of Kingsbridge station in the Bronx at grade [early 1900's view before the Deegan expressway was ever thought of], Park Hill on the Getty Square branch with steam, and the terminal building at Getty Square labeled for the New York & Northern Railroad [NY Central took them over around the turn of the century].  I recently added 4 more photos to this cd, bringing the total up to 104 photos. I added 2 views each of the Lincolndale station (on the Harlem Branch, which ran from Golden's bridge on the Harlem Division to Lake Mahopac on the Putnam Division) and the Tilly Foster station.  I also added 6 photos by Peter McLachlan of Sedgwick Ave. terminal as well as Yorktown Heights of the final passenger train ever.

In a bit of sad news, the Millwood station (pictured on this disc) was recently demolished in May 2012.

The cd starting bid has just been reduced to $42.25 for a limited time, which is less than 41ยข a photo!!!

The photos on this disc are extremely rare.  This disc is not to be copied for resale.  Purchase of this disc does not give the purchaser permission to publish these photos in any publication without my written permission.  You may print them FOR YOUR OWN USE ONLY.

You will not find these photos anywhere!!!  The "PUT" was hardly photographed at all.  If it wasn't for the late Frank Schlegel, I don't think there would have been much photography of the "PUT" at all.  I also am selling timetables of the Putnam Division (various dates).  I also sell railroad, subway, bus and trolley slides.  Check out my store for more details.

I also sell railroad, bus, trolley and NYC subway slides as well as vintage New York Central and Penn Central timetables. Check out my store for more details.
