LOT of 46 CDs from bands/artists in the ALTERNATIVE ROCK, HARD ROCK, or POWER POP genres -- mostly from the 1990s and early 2000s era. Catherine Wheel, Dandy Warhols, Elastica, Fountains of Wayne, Lemonheads, Stephen Malkmus, Menswear, Thurston Moore, Oasis, Ocean Blue, Ride, Sonic Youth, Supergrass, Swirlies, Veruca Salt, Verve, much more! Very eclectic assortment of great stuff.
Note: I am selling many compact discs and other items. Shipping combined for multiple purchases. Please see my other listings. READ THIS FIRST!: I am selling hundreds of CDs (compact discs) in lots. Many, but not all, of these CDs are rare alternative, indie-rock, and other genres that should be of interest to those who appreciate non-mainstream music. It is also well worth noting that many of these CDs are rare or OOP -- Out of Print. My goal is to provide buyers with the fullest possible information before making a purchase. With that in mind, please be sure to read over this entire listing prior to bidding. I have attempted to supply all relevant details regarding condition, value, packaging, shipping, and other concerns. Be sure also to look over the photographs supplied (scroll to the bottom of this listing), and of course do not hesitate to contact me in advance to ask questions. Thank you for your bids. ABOUT THIS CD LOT: This is a terrific collection of compact discs featuring works by bands/artists in the ALTERNATIVE, POWER-POP, somewhat INDIE genres ... (Check my other listings for similar types of bands -- punk, rock, goth, indie, etc.). NOTE: I am also auctioning various similar lots full of INDIE and other stuff -- see my other listings. Click here to learn more about the INDIE ROCK designation. FULL LIST OF CDs IN THIS AUCTION: Here is the rundown. I attempted to list the condition of each CD as well. (Scroll to bottom of this listing for photo/s of all the CDs.)
VALUE OF THIS LOT?: I haven't researched the retail value of these CDs, but if they average $10, this lot would be worth about $400. It's a safe bet several of these CDs are out-of-print (OOP) and worth much more than $10, even on the used-CD market. (Lower-quality condition CDs have been excluded from value estimate.) MORE ABOUT THESE CD SALES: The compact discs I am selling here are from the large collection of a very enthusiastic and diligent music fan. You will find a stunning variety of adventurous, eclectic music genres represented, with an emphasis on original, independent-spirited types of music, such as indie rock, alternative, and other styles. Most of the lots contain full-length albums, but some include rare EPs and singles as well. There are many benefits to owning CDs, including portability/control of the source material and having direct physical access to the liner notes and artwork. There's also the matter of collectibility -- especially considering that a great many of the CDs being auctioned here are OOP, or OUT OF PRINT, making them more collectible and more valuable. I think you will enjoy browsing through all of the CD groupings listed, so please take a look at all my CD listings. Thank you in advance for bidding. IMPORTANT NOTE(s) ABOUT CONDITION: The original owner of these CDs was inconsistent in terms of how the compact discs were handled. While some of the CDs are in pristine, like-new condition, many others have a degree of wear -- usually light, but sometimes more. With that in mind, I have gone to great lengths to list the condition of every CD (alongside the list of the CDs themselves). The condition report generally falls into one of three categories: (1) EXCELLENT, which means "like new" or very nearly "like new"; (2) VERY GOOD, which means it looks fine but there are some visible minor flaws that shouldn't affect play at all; and (3) GOOD, which means the CD is highly likely to play fully, but there are enough flaws, such as light scratches, scuffing, etc., that the buyer should be forewarned to expect noticeable imperfections on the disc surface -- and there is a remote chance that the disc could skip somewhere (though relatively new, modern CD players and computer DVDs read CDs better than they used to). If a CD showed significant wear, I play-tested it to make sure it plays, and anything that didn't play well was either discarded, or I have fully disclosed its flaws in the listing. Out of all the CDs in all of these auctions, probably 30-40% are excellent, about 50-60% very-good to very-good-plus, and about 10-20% good or lower. When you estimate the value you are willing to pay for the CDs, please factor in that 10-20%! REGARDING JEWEL CASES AND LINER NOTES: Most of the CD jewel cases are intact, but a small percentage of them (maybe 10%) might have cracks, soiling, or broken hinge tabs. Condition reports refer solely to the CDs, not the cases. In almost all instances, the liner notes should be fully intact. HOW WILL CDs BE PACKAGED?: These CD lots will be packaged with a reasonable amount of protective padding, and placed inside of durable cardboard boxes that are well-taped-up. I follow the Golden Rule of shipping: I ship to others the way I'd like them to ship to me. Your winning bids will be packaged such that you receive them safely, and in the condition listed here. HOW WILL CDs BE SHIPPED?: I plan to ship via USPS, probably using the Media Mail rate, or whatever is inexpensive and aligns with postal policy. If you prefer a different shipping method, let me know and I will accommodate your wishes. Also, I will gladly combine the shipping cost if you purchase multiple CD lots. RETURN POLICY?: I am declining to offer returns on these CDs, mainly because of the considerable effort involved in setting up all of these CD auctions. Look over my listings and I think you will find they are very detailed and give bidders as much information possible so you know what you're getting in advance. I want to have happy customers; it's just in this case I'd also like to be able to complete the sales and move on without worrying about somebody sending me back 200 CDs that I need to re-list. I hope that makes sense. By all means do contact me in advance if you have any questions or concerns. Shipping and packaging policy: Shipping costs are kept low, and methods are negotiable based on your preferences. I WILL GLADLY COMBINE SHIPPING ON MULTIPLE ITEMS, SO IF YOU WIN MORE THAN ONE AUCTION YOU WILL COME OUT AHEAD. Please allow a few days lead time for shipping, since I can only get to the post office once or twice a week. Condition policy: As somebody who has purchased a lot of items on eBay, nothing is more irksome than getting a "surprise" -- that is, an item in condition notably worse than described. I will never knowingly misrepresent an item's condition. I aim to be a seller who can be trusted. Please do read over the listing carefully for condition details, and be sure to ask questions before bidding in case you have any particular concerns beyond what is described herein. Returns policy: For these CDs, I have decided not to offer returns, in part due to the nature of the CD format, and also because I am attempting to liquidate the collection in one fell swoop and would prefer to wrap up this effort with as little after-the-fact trouble as possible. I have gone to pains to list the condition of every CD, striving for accuracy and thoroughness in doing so. My hope is that bidders will have all relevant information prior to bidding, and therefore not end up getting something they did not expect. If you have any questions about this policy, do not hesitate to ask.
