S-Video 4 Pin Male Mini DIN Adapter to convert standard Chroma Luma Signals from RCA Male to 4 Pin Male Mini DIN.

Original S-Video Monitors like the Commodore 1702 used RCA Chroma and Luma jacks for S-Video in. Newer monitors use 4 Pin Mini DIN for S-Video in.

This adapter converts the old style RCA Chroma/Luma to 4 Pin Mini DIN S-Video used in for modern TVs and Monitors or can do the reverse.

Hookup:

Connect Luma Signal from Computer to the Red RCA Adapter Connector.

Connect Chroma(composite if no chroma) to Black RCA Adapter Connector.

Used on Atari 800/XL/XE/ or Commodore C64/128 with a standard 5 Pin DIN to RCA Color Monitor Cable to connect to Color Composite Monitor or TV with with a 4 Pin Mini S-Video input.

For some Commodore and Atari XL computers they left off Chroma signal so you can use the Composite signal in place of the Chroma information which is better than composite only but not as good as pure separated Chroma and Luma.
