This is a top quality guitar modelled on a ’57Stratocaster. Though the headstock says otherwise, it is not made by Fender but the gold hardware is. The bridge is a genuine Fender USA vintage reissue assembly and the machine heads are vintage Fender staggered 6 inline (SD91) – the same tuners used on the original Eric JohnsonArtist Series Strat.

The pickups are Wilkinson Alnico 5 magnets,– fibre pickup bass waxed cloth wires vintage 5-8 to 6K (Bridge) wind with a reverse-wound middle pickup and staggered poles (52mm spaced). The body (supplied by Acepro) is solid alder with a two-tone burst and the maple vintage neck (7.25"radius) is also Acepro. It has a five-position switch and 21 vintage frets.

There are no issues, scratches or dents apart from a small hole on the headstock between the E and A tuning posts – probably made for a second string tree, which the guitar doesn’t need and wouldn’t be inkeeping with a ’57 model (see pic). It could use a new set of strings but otherwise it's in mint condition.

This guitar was one of two that were custom-built for a Buddy Holly stage show (hence the spaghetti logo, which could be removed). The other one was red and the original owner’s favourite so this one just sat on stage looking pretty – really beautiful, in fact. I’ve only gigged it twice.

It plays really well (low action), oozes quality and sounds like a good Strat should – rich and full with warmth at the bridge, bite at the back and authentic out-of-phase tones on the 2 and 4 positions.  It also comes with a gold tremelo arm (with springs) and straplocks. I’m only selling because my collection is getting out of hand and I could use the cash. It will be well packed in a gig bag, lots of padding and a cardboard guitar box.
