Meet Clementine! She is the fourth Once-Loved Doll (O.L.D.) of the series from my book, "Hazel Twigg & the Hollyhock Hideaway."

Don't THINK I haven't been singing that song all day. But she is! She IS darling...as in...Oh, my darling! Oh my darling! Oh my darling Clementine...!

Clementine is a 20" composition cloth doll manufactured by the Century Doll Company and marked as such. She is in fair to dang good condition, depending on your standards, and you are guaranteed to love her.

My philosophy is to do as little as possible to these girls. Mend them, clean them, and dress them up so that they can last and be loved for another lifetime without losing the signs that they were Once-Loved before.

Clementine's flaws: She has a crack going across the back of her shoulderplate. It was still sturdy, but I've filled it and it's sturdier still. I did not sand it smooth. She also had some chips to the bottoms of her feet and a few other random ones here and there. Also filled and hardly noticeable. Her cheeks are ruddy, most likely from plenty of outdoor activity and she has a few scuffs here and there. You can see one in the close up of the side of her face. They are there, but when you see her, you just see The Pretty.

Her cloth body is a little grungy but it is sound with no offensive odors.Clementine arrived bald and we found a wonderful blonde mohair wig for her! You can read about her wig trials and see her "before" photos at my blog post "Hair Club for O.L.D.ies" at hazeltwigg. If you click on my house in the center of the map, it will lead you to wonderful places.

She will come to you in an outfit made just for her. I think it's a shame that a doll only gets one original outfit; the one she wears when she's fresh out of the factory. I have therefore made her another! For her new life!

Clementine's outfit is especially special: Her coat is made from appropriately itchy wool recently found at a barn sale here in Iowa. To that end, it is lined in vintage lavender satin. Her pinafore is reversible. One side is lilac voile with mother-of-pearl buttons, the other side is white cotton linen cut from antique underclothes with black and white buttons (over snaps). Her dress would have been yards and yards of fabric were she the same size and you or I. It's a lovely fabric from about Clementine's era found at that same barn smell.

She has a little drawstring purse that holds some old jacks and a ball. Her pocket holds a vintage hankie. Her hat! Has a beautiful old rhinestone pin. Her shoes are handmade in chocolate brown leather that button on the side. She is so excited to meet you!

This Once-Loved Doll is ready to be loved again! And she is the FOURTH. She will have a tag saying so on her wrist. Keep it! Keep everything! And for a laugh - that may very well come true - go to my Blog and enter "Antiques Roadshow."

For more photos and details, visit the O.L.D. registry and click on Clementine's name. You can see other dolls that will be coming soon and there are also links to Hazel Twigg & the Hollyhock Hideaway to read online free, with the printed book coming this fall.

***Please Note*** Clementine is especially heavy. I'll do my best! You will NOT overpay! (It's one of my pet peeves too)

Please Feel Free: to ask any questions or request additional photos.

Shipping: if I am off by a dollar or more, back into your pocket the difference goes! I've done it before and I will do it again!

Thank you!
