Pete Fecteau is the world's predominant Rubik's Cube mosaic artist. He's been working with Rubik's Cubes since 2009 and has created more than a dozen large-scale mosaics for clients such as National Geographic and the Liberty Science Center. This mosaic, a stunning tribute to the late Robin Williams, is comprised of 600 used and damaged Rubik's Cubes that were donated from You Can Do The Cube.

The You Can Do The Cube program helps children of all ages grasp important math concepts by sending packages of Rubik's Cubes to teachers all over North America. As the children use the Rubik's Cubes they become worn or damaged and need to be retired from the program. What better way to honor Mr. Williams than by using these cubes to immortalize his goofball antics and joy for life.

Pete created this mosaic with the help of Dan Pastushkov, a student at Corte Madera School in Portola Valley, California. They built the mosaic over the course of 8.5 hours on October 12th, 2014.

All proceeds from this auction will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Robin Williams spent countless hours with children battling cancer, bringing smiles to them and their families. If you are not the winner of the auction we still encourage you to make a contribution to either of these fine organizations.
