1993 18" Klein Attitude Gator Linear Fade I have for sale my first mountain bike, an 18" Klein Attitude in Gator Linear Fade with it's original UniKlein fork. It has taken me a long time to decide to sell this iconic bike, but the time has come. I've owned this Klein since 1994. It was originally purchased new from Don's Cyclery in Rialto, CA in 1993 by a friend of mine. The frame was manufactured in December 1992. The paint on this bike is brilliant, and although I've tried multiple times at different hours of the day to capture it's true color, I haven't been able to. Even the pictures I've posted don't convey the vibrancy of the paint. It is equipped with all of its original Shimano XT components, Campagnolo Thorr rims and Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle. I purchased the Syncros 420mm seatpost new from Lo Fat Cycles in the mid 90's to replace the original shorter Syncros post. This bike is also equipped with Ringle skewers and bottle cage that were installed by the original owner. Please keep in mind that this is a mountain bike and has small cosmetic imperfections in the paint, but there are no dings or dents in the frame. There were times that I shed my own blood protecting this work of art from terra firma while out on the trail two decades ago. Please look closely at the photos and I encourage you to ask questions. The bike recently had a tune up, performed by a mechanic who worked at Supergo Brea in the early nineties, and also had the correct MC1 headset press to install the original fork. I will include the nearly new, relatively speaking, Judy fork and adapter, as well as a Manitou adapter in the sale. Frame measurements are as follows: • Seat tube C-T 16" • Seat tube C-C 13.5" • Top tube C-C 20.75" • Effective top tube 22" • Cockpit 26.75" Don't be fooled by these measurements. It is an 18" frame. The numbers for this frame may seem small, but I am 5'11" and was able to ride this bike comfortably with a slightly longer stem, which I will include in the auction. I've done my best to describe the bike's condition. I encourage you to ask questions, and I can provide additional photos upon request. If you'd like to speak to me about the bike, email me for my phone number. Thank you for looking.

All bicycles will require some degree of reassembly and tuning when they arrive. Most bicycle shops charge $25 to $75 for this type of service. If you are not experienced with bicycle repair and maintenance we strongly suggest taking your bike to a professional for reassembly and fitting. A good bike shop assembly will help prevent any damage or problems with your bike that can result from improper reassembly. |
