A genuine WW2 Observer's and Air Gunner's Flying Log book to Flying Officer James Allan Logan of the New Zealand Air Force attached RCAF who was Killed in Action 10th November 1942. Comes with extensive research, over 50 pages from the NZDF archives, biography from a relative and recent photos of his grave.

 

The book is in good condition with some signs of wear

 

James Logan was born in Napier 3rd June 1913. He signed up for the RNZAF in 1939 training in NZ and later Canada. He was posted to RAF squadron No 107 where he was a navigator on Bostons. He took part in 4 operational flights including Abbeville, Le Havre and Willebroeck. On the 10th November 1942 he was involved in an attack on a large merchant ship off Le Havre when his aircraft collided with another Boston from the same squadron before plunging into the sea. Crews of both planes were lost. He is remembered at the Ste Marie Cemetery at Le Havre.
