Commodore 65 Prototyp, aka DX64 oder C90Zunächst der obligatorische Wikipedia Teil: "Beim Commodore 65 (kurz C65) handelt es sich um einen projektierten, aber nie zur Serienreife gebrachten 8-Bit-Heimcomputer des US-amerikanischen Herstellers Commodore International, der 1991 als Nachfolger des marktführenden Commodore 64 auf den Markt kommen sollte. Der C65 sollte zum Vorgängermodell softwarekompatibel sein und zu diesem Zweck mit einer Weiterentwicklung des bewährten 8-Bit-Mikroprozessors MOS Technology 6502, 128 KB Arbeitsspeicher (RAM), 128 KB Festspeicher (ROM) sowie mit gegenüber dem C64 verbesserten Spezialbausteinen für die Bild- und Tonausgabe ausgestattet werden. [...] Um den eigenen 16-Bit-Heimcomputern, allen voran dem Amiga 500 sowie dem Amiga 500 Plus, keine gewinnmindernde hausinterne Konkurrenz zu schaffen, wurde jedoch schließlich seitens des Herstellers auf eine Markteinführung des intern als C64DX Development System bezeichneten Rechners verzichtet. Daher ist der C65 nie über das Planungsstadium hinausgekommen und es existieren nur wenige Prototypen, die aufgrund ihrer Seltenheit sowie der Bedeutung des Vorgängermodells für die Geschichte der Heimcomputer heutzutage einen hohen Sammlerwert besitzen." Der Wikipedia Artikel beinhaltet auch ein Kapitel über die letzten Auktionen, in denen ein C65 versteigert wurde. Beachten Sie, dass C65 Prototypen extrem selten sind und mittlerweile nicht nur von "Altvorderen" geschätzt werden, sondern ein klares Investment mit Wertzuwachsgarantie darstellen. Dieses Modell besitzt keine Seriennummer (ein Aufkleber auf dem Gehäuseboden). Das ist allerdings ganz normal, da die meisten C65 wohl ohne Seriennummer ausgeliefert wurden. Ich zitiere aus einer C65 Auktion aus dem Jahr 2013: "Ich weiß nicht, ob es viele Leute gibt, die wissen, wie einige (vermutlich so ziemlich die meisten) C65 eigentlich nach Deutschland kamen. Mich hat seiner Zeit ein ehemaliger Kollege von Markt & Technik angerufen. Er hatte irgendwo erfahren, das ein paar C65 Prototypen in einer Art Container rumstanden (wo, weiß ich nicht mehr genau) und den hat er komplett aufgekauft (Commodore war ja Pleite). Die sollten vor der Pleite von Commodore, u.a. an Entwickler ausgeliefert werden. Aber dazu kam es bekanntermaßen nicht mehr. Er fragte mich, ob ich einen haben wolle als alter Commodore-Fan. Natürlich wollte ich einen. Ich bin also zu ihm hingefahren und konnte mir einen C65 aussuchen - inkl. Seriennummeraufkleber. Die Seriennummern waren nämlich zu dem Zeitpunkt auf den Geräten noch gar nicht aufgeklebt sondern einfach auf einer Aufkleberrolle. Die kleinste Nummer, die noch da war, war die 158. Deshalb hat meiner die Seriennummer 158. Also die Seriennummern vieler dieser Geräte dürften eher zufällig ihre Nummer tragen und kamen nicht so vom Werk raus." Wichtig ist somit vor allem die Revision des Boards ("2B"), die Version des EEPROMs (390488-01) und der beiden GALs ("390545-01" und "390989-01"). Alle Label scheinen mir original zu sein. Dieser C65 ist in sehr gutem Zustand - keine Vergilbung, keine Risse. Es fehlt jedoch die Abdeckung des RAM Slots im Boden des Gehäuses und es finden sich kleine Kratzer am rechten Gehäuserand und unterhalb der Leertaste (siehe Fotos). Ich habe den C65 schon in diesem zustand bekommen und vermute beides ist der Lagerung im oben zitierten Container geschuldet. Vielen der bekannten C65 fehlt die Bodenklappe, sicher ein schönes Projekt für einen 3D Drucker... Ich habe diesen C65 vor dem Start dieser Auktion intensiv getestet. Sie können dies in den Fotos und dem verlinken YouTube Video entnehmen. Das eingebaute Diskettenlaufwerk funktioniert, es ließt, schreibt und formatiert ohne Probleme. Neben dem C65 selbst liefere ich das passende Netzteil (220V) mit. Das TTL Videokabel, welches ich im demo Video am C1081 Monitor nutze, hat nach der Aufnahme leider einen Pin verloren. Auf Wunsch lege ich es aber bei. Ich versende den C65 weltweit - soweit Ihr Land für diese Auktion zugelassen ist. Der Preis für den Versand ergibt sich durch das Zielland, die gewünschte Versandart und Versicherung. The C65 is an improved version of the wildly successful Commodore 64, but adds vastly improved features close to those of the Amiga. Very few of these prototypes were ever produced, with estimates ranging from 50 to 200 machines. The Wikipedia article contains some references to recent bids for C65 units, please note that these machines are extremely rare and considered as an investment, guaranteed to gain value over the coming years. This particular unit has no serial number, actually it is missing the decal on the back - and I'd say there never has been one. But that's perfectly normal as no C65 case had a serial number meant for identifying the date of manufacturing etc. Actually, when all the C65 were sold during the liquidation of C= Germany rolls of serial number stickers were available, and you've been free to pick one at your choice to stick it onto your C65. So in consequence the only numbers which matter are the boards revision and maybe the sticker on the EPROM. As you can see closeups of the motherboard, this board is a revision 2B. The sticker label on the EPROM looks genuine and states "390488-01", the two GALs (typical for a "2B MoBo") nicknamed Elmer and Igori are labeled "390545-01" and "390989-01" It is in very good physical shape (no yellowing of plastic whatsoever) and is fully working. That said, it is missing the cover/lid of the expansion door on the bottom and has some tiny scratches on the left side of the case (see pictures). I have intensively tested it the days before the auction started as you can see in the various attached pictures and videos below. The Floppy works, formats a disk and loads the (included) demo disk. The C65 is sold with a European power supply. The TTL video cable I used to plug in to the 1084 Commodore monitor broke after the recording (a pin snapped off) - I can add it into the package if you want to try to fix it. I will ship this computer to all places in the world (if your country is allowed to this auction), fully insured, using the most reliable delivery service. Am 12.10.15 hat der Verkäufer die folgenden Angaben hinzugefügt: Addendum: Since the bidding for my little prrrrechious reached a certain level, I'm constantly thinking about how to ship, insure and get the payment done. Not an easy task with such an high amount... I will pack the parcel to the max (thinking about an inner wood cage) for sure but you never know if somebody throws a piano on top of it. Talking to several potential (european) bidders, we came to the conclusion that it might be the most secure and cheapest way to simply pick-up the C65 yourself here in Hamburg/Germany and transport it as hand-luggage, like a raw egg. Additionally we can check it & have a nerd chat etc. before the train/flight goes back. If I manage to find a shipping company which insures the package for e.g. 20000€, the price for that insurance will be much higher than a ticket - plus taxes like those due in Switzerland (i.e 8% = 1600€). And if something breaks during shipping all you get is your money back... but a C65 is irreplaceable (like a piece of classic art ;-)) |
