Victorian 18ct Gold Openwork Pearl set 'Star Motif' Pendant Brooch c1895 A stunning Victorian 18ct Gold Openwork 'Star Motif' Holbein (Pendant/Brooch) set with Seed Pearls, which is in crisp original condition & dates to c1895. It has been beautifully crafted with a hinged removable bale and removable brooch fitting to create a star motif Holbein of the very finest quality (please study the detailed close-up photographs, which form an integral part of the item's description). This wonderful Holbein is such a versatile addition to any collection of Victorian Jewelllery; it can be worn either as a Pendant or as a Brooch just as you desire and only requires the addition of a chain should you wish to wear it as a Pendant. It is centrally set with a beautiful star motif within a larger openwork framework with stylized foliate terminals radiating from the centre - all set with Seed Pearls to create a Pendant/Brooch that is simply sublime. Typical of the period this extremely fine quality antique Brooch/Pendant, which weighs 6.9 grams, is unmarked but it is guaranteed to be made from solid 18ct Gold and it has the following dimensions: length approx' 3.7cms (including the bale) by a width of approx' 2.8cms. Overall this beautiful Holbein is in crisp original condition, with only the lightest wear commensurate with age, as shown & it comes complete with it's original bale, pin, hinge and clasp that all work perfectly.
