A melancholy woman in a transparent space helmet is seen up close against an intense starry backdrop.

This is the original artwork on 11" x 17" paper for a special one-off illustration I made for my webcomic, "Supermassive Black Hole A*" (smbhax.com), way back in late 2011, shortly after I had switched from digital to traditional art and was experimenting with various traditional techniques: in this one I went vertical instead of my usual horizontal, used rather more room than usual outside my normal 6.75" x 16" visible frame, and daubed white ink on very thickly for stars with a dried sea sponge! The piece is black and white ink--with black ink wash--on acid-free 70 lb Bienfang Raritan drawing paper. This is the original art, not a reproduction. It is signed by the artist, Ben Chamberlain (that's me! :).
