This is the very rare, very hard to find and out of production for many years New Old Stock R/H Door Seal for a Lotus Elan M100 from VIN M8161 onwards.

Anyone that has owned an M100 and has replaced some / most of their perished seals knows that this one is the hardest of all to track down.  This one is in new, unpackaged but unused condition with all the retaining / push clips in place and unworn since the seal has never been fitted to a vehicle.  The mounting lug at the bottom of the seal is also in place, again never seen a screw as it's not been on a vehicle.

Please be mindful of the fact this seal is, I would guess more than 22-23 years old.  Since obtaining it, I have dry stored it in a sealed box, though I have no idea how the dealer I obtained it from stored it for the majority of its life after production.

I believe all of this era of Lotus seals were produced in Canada, and although this one (and other NOS items I have) can be considered 'new' and are certainly unused, the manufacturing process itself and resultant finished product is fairly crude with a few rough edges and blemishes but no obvious rips, splits, tears, nicks or defects in any of the visible areas of the seal.  As I say, in my experience none of these seals were absolutely 'clean' and there are a few 'burrs' at certain points of the rubber where i assume it was cut away from the mold, and the bottom edge by the mounting lug is in my opinion quite 'rough', again part of the manufacturing process.  I am probably understating the quality of this, but I have tried to describe this as accurately as possible and show, through the photographs (which for part of the description) to avoid any misunderstanding.  The are plenty of folds and creases along the seal, since it has been dry stored in coiled-up position.  When I fitted one of these to my own car the creases all stretched out.

I don't believe I saw more than 2-3 of these come up for sale during my M100 ownership period and I am sure all of those were sold as good condition used items that had been removed from salvage vehicles.

If you are completing a restoration / refurbishment of your car or you are looking to tidy up your RH Door Seal, which get notoriously tatty / perished at the top/back edge where the door meets the body, this is a very opportunity to obtain an unused one ready to fit and (hopefully!) provide years of service.

While this part number corresponds with the later M100 cars, I am told that this will also fit earlier S1 cars with light modification.  I can't vouch for this as my own was a late model S1 and I fitted one of these Door seals to it without issue.

You are bidding on / buying what you can see here and there are no returns.

Happy to send more photos or answer questions as best I can.

Good luck!

I will list some more parts in due course
