Winnipeg Jets game worn home white jersey from Ray Neufeld, one of the first African American NHL players. Jersey is from the 86/87 seasons. Neufeld is a 6'3" Canadian who played for the Whalers, Bruins and Jets in the NHL and played juniors in Flin Flon for the Bombers.

Game used road blue jersey from the NHL Winnipeg Jets. Jersey is Maska knit body all sewn including blue/red hem and sleeve/shoulder striping.

Jets crest is a satin backed logo that is sewn on using heavy embroidery as well as the JET lettering logo, name and WINNIPEG lettering. All sleeve and back numbers are 2 layer sewn on satin material. The nameplate is also satin with the name lettering NILL made of heavy raised embroidered threading, these are not sewn on letters. The fight strap is velcro style, CCM patch w/o * sewn on rear outer hem.

This shirt features the 1st edition of the Jets GFK patch. This patch is 1"x3" on the upper right shoulder and only appeared at the last half of the 86/87 season. This GFK patch is cloth sewn on, and the lettering, Jets logo and heart icon are screened into the patch. The patch was changed after this season.

This shirt is from the latter half of the 86/87 season as the 86/87 front end shirts did not have velcro straps or the CCM patch w/o the * after the M.

There are only 4 shirts I know of in the hobby with this patch (I own 3), another is in a friends collection.

This game used shirt is from the 7th season for the NHL version of the Jets.

Nice 24 year old piece of Winnipeg Jets history from a 600 game forward. Nill was acquired from the Bruins for Mirris Lukowich (whoops!)

Right-winger Ray Neufeld was a scrappy competitor who used his size and scoring ability to good effect during his 595-game NHL career. He recorded four 20-goal seasons and set up his linemates for many goals through his hard work in the corners.

The native of St. Boniface, Manitoba was a scoring star with the Flin Flon Bombers and Edmonton Oil Kings of the WCJHL. After scoring 54 goals for Edmonton in 1978-79, he was taken 81st overall by the Hartford Whalers at the NHL Entry Draft.

Neufeld played mostly in the AHL for three years before earning a full time slot on the Whalers in 1982-83. Beginning that year he record three straight seasons of nearly 30 goals and formed an effective line with Bob Sullivan and Mark Johnson. Early in the 1985-86 season he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets for popular defenceman Dave Babych.

Neufeld played decently but his goal total dropped and he began to feel the pressure from the home crowd. In December 1988 he was traded to the Boston Bruins for Moe Lemay but spent most of his time in the minors for his new club. He retired in 1990 after scoring 27 goals for the AHL's Maine Mariners.
