YOU ARE VIEWING A CD ENTITLED "Viaggio virtuale nella antica Roma" which means Virtual Journey through Ancient Rome by NewMedia.
THE CD IS IN ITALIAN.
The CD-Rom is a
breathtaking trip in time and space, devoted to a virtual visit to the
architectures and the urban areas of ancient and modern Rome. It is
possible to gain access to Roman main monuments either choosing from an
alphabetical and a chronological list, or through the active areas of a
wide model, over which we can fly with a sweeping bird’s eye-view, and
zoom directly onto the most important archaeological sites in Rome.
Hypertextual cards about history, art and evolution of the city are also
available. In some cases a visit to the monuments can be done through a
spectacular virtual navigation system, allowing you to see both the
present state of ancient buildings and their reconstruction, in relation
to the most reliable scientific hypothesis.
The CD-Rom also contains a rare iconographical evidence from the 1850s:
“Gli edifizj di Roma Antica” (The Buildings of Ancient Rome) by Luigi
Canina. This book contains masterful drawings by this famous architect
who worked for the Borghese family.
This CD-Rom has been the first publishing step in the achievement of the
Ancient Rome Tour DVD: a multimedia project dedicated to the virtual
reconstruction of Ancient Rome, developed with the support of UE within
the development programme MEDIA2.
Also included is a book entitled Miti Romani by Jane F Gardner.
