A Rare Chance to Buy a 1930's French Roller Lace Making Travelling Pillow. This type of Pillow was used on Journeys as it is stable with its flat base making it easy to use. The Roller and Top of the Pillow  are stuffed with Straw as far as I can tell & is quite firm. These are covered in Green Fabric. One end of the Roller has a Wooden Rachet Wheel with Locking Bar. The base is made of wood. It still has the last piece of Lace worked pinned to it. Also a Wooden Lace Roller to wind the lace around as you make it, this looks like a Rolling Pin.

With it comes the Original receipt dated 10th Feb 1936 Bought from E P Rose & Sons. Bedford. Great Britian. The hand writing on this is faded and from what I can make out it was sold to a Mrs Kemp who lived somewhere in Kent? The receipt is itemized and includes the French Roller, Picking cards, Pins and some Bobbins.

Also included are 16 Assorted Bobbins + 4 with spangles, 4 Bobbin Covers to keep Thread Clean, 2 Nearly full packets & 2 part packets of Brass Pins. A small piece of Parchment/Card with a Bluebell Pattern pricked unto it. A Modern Booklet "Pillow Lace" Torchon Lace Part 1, this Booklet has approx 20 pages with diagrams and stapled to the inside back cover is a large sheet with 6 patterns printed on it.

The Condition is Very Good for a used item of this age, Roller & Base have some pin holes and a few marks.

The Bobbins & Covers all have wear-damage from use.

The size is approx 12" Wide x 11" Deep

Described to the best of my ability. Any Questions Please Email

Will be Packaged Well and sent in a cardboard box.

Payment by Paypal

Please note I will be listing a couple of Lace Making Books and quite a few bundles of Bobbins
