BSA A1O TWIN CARB HEAD MANIFOLDS
This auction is for the manifolds, Left and Right, only. NOT the cylinder head!

A10 & A7 Twin Carb heads were a dealer accessory in the US. They appeared in the accessories catalogs in 1958 onwards, probably before but I don't know for sure! The carb option was the TT or 'handed' monobloc's but 'chopped' monobloc's could also be used. The A10 used 1-1/16" carbs.

The cylinder head part number for the A10 was 67-1106, for the A7 it was 67-1101

See the accessories page that I've included here.

These manifolds almost NEVER appear for sale. Why? Because when the guys that had them originally couldn't keep their twin carbs in sync, usually because they were relying on the throttle cables to achieve a tickover, quite incorrectly of course. These heads were consequently replaced with the single carb head once again, forsaking the top end power benefits of the twin carbs.

Most of these manifolds ended up separated from their head......
Anyone who ever would come across them, without the presence of a cylinder head, would almost certainly not recognize them and they were eventually destined for the trash can.

I suspect a few of these manifolds also got wrecked by careless 'porting' to increase the bore beyond 1-1/8" as the walls were rather thin adjacent to the head mounting nut recesses.

Also the earlier bolt-on manifold single carb heads became the 'twin carb' head, but for the lack of the 'unobtainium' manifolds. Billet type manifolds have been used but, of course, lack the authenticity of BSA's cast versions.
