Hello And Welcome To Auction!

Most of the music memoribilia (Backstage Passes, Guitar Picks, Awards, Drum Sticks, Set Lists, etc) I am selling off come from connections I have in the music industry, directly from the artist, tour workers, venue workers, promotional departments, etc, from over the past twenty years. I mainly collect the items for myself and only sell my items once or twice a year to make room for new items or to sell off similar or duplicate items.

This was a rare find that I came across and quickly purchased.  A Randy Rhoads - Blizzard of Ozz - Ozzy Osbourne Guitar pick.  Now before we all go crazy train with emails, I know Randy Rhoads was not known to use a personalized pick.  He used Fender Mediums from what I understand and if he used a personalized pick it was never documented or seen by anyone else.  He passed away before Dunlop (supposidly) were able to present him with a pick that had his name and the bands name Blizzard of Ozz (before they went by Ozzy's name).  He did use a Fender Medium and the uncircled R is the correct time period for the late 70's early 80's, before the registered "R" after "Fender" had a circle around it.  So that would be the correct color and year of Fender pick Randy used.  The backside is hot stamped with the Fender logo and the reverse logo that mirrors it I was told can be caused by two picks being stacked (or glued - see old residue on pick on that side) together for a long period of time.  I have emailed and had contact with Rudy Sarzo (said he had no idea what pick Randy used since he plays with his fingers he never paid attention), Kelle Rhoads (Has never seen this pick before and was not aware that Randy had any personalized picks made), Charles Lusso from D'Andrea (they made the picks for Fender during that time period.  He explained the hot stamp process and why it looks like it has a reverse stamp from stacking or glue, he also said that many artists and relation departments had picks made for them as a courtesy or favor.  He said he would have to dig too deep to find out if they made this pick.)  I contacted several other creditable pick collectors who also had never seen the pick before and had no info on it.  The pick is clearly old, the correct make, year, RR logo, band name, etc.  I hink this is a special pick for whatever place in history it held.  I am putting a reserve on it because I would like to keep it for my collection, but will sell it for the right amount.  I also hope I may get some more info on it.
