In the late 1970's she worked for Corriander Press in London supervising the production of complex screen printing of work done by many famous artists including that of Sir Terry Frost.

THE SERIGRAPH PROCESS

Serigraphy is a printing process that forces ink through a fine mesh screen or stencil. Multiple layers of ink are manually pressed or "squeezed" through the stencil creating an image on a screen of silk or another fine fabric with an impermeable substance. The more shades of colour used the more complicated and lengthy the process.  The result is a brilliantly hued work of art that retains its beauty for a lifetime.  Many well known and talented artists re-produce their work in this way.

LIMITED EDITIONS are produced on a limited run, never to be printed again.   They are generally numbered, with the lower numbers being the most valued

About Us

Sussex ARTworks is a small business specialising in bespoke picture framing and sales of eclectic art.

Working from my small studio, combining my of love of art with my experience as a picture framer, I produce beautiful pieces to enhance your home.  The art is acquired from a number of sources including galleries, auctions, house clearance and direct from the artist.  It is often unframed or in need of restoration and in these situations I lovingly re-mount and re-frame, injecting life back into interesting pieces of art.

CONSERVATION

All Sussex ARTworks framing is done to conservation standards, mounting on acid-free board, using acid-free tabs.  It is important to protect works of art, particularly on paper, as it is sensitive to its surroundings and can be damaged by damp, changes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to light and adhesive.   This is why conservation framing is so important; preserving the beauty and value of your artwork for future generations.

FRAMING SERVICES

Bespoke framing using conservation materials (see above) is available for any items for sold unframed.  This gives you the opportunity to choose your frame and mount.  A number of different glass options are also available including Anti-reflective, UV protected and shatterproof Acrylic.   All the framing is lovingly completed by Debbie at SussexARTworks.  We never outsource.

ON LINE SALES

Selling on-line is a new venture for Sussex ARTworks.  In the past I have been sceptical about selling on the internet preferring customers to examine our offerings 'in the flesh'.  Improvements in technology have however made me reconsider this decision and I am looking to build a trusted reputation for interesting and affordable art.

FEEDBACK

My feedback score is growing but please assist me in this by remembering to give your positive feedback. I am committed to ensuring you are completely satisfied with your purchase so would urge you to communicate with me before leaving feedback, should your experience with Sussex ARTworks be anything other than 100% satisfactory.
