An original hammer for an 1816 US flintlock musket. Nice condition with no damage. I believe it could be for a Springfield musket because of the small "C" shaped stamp on the back of the post. This stamp is common on Springfield musket locks. When I bought the hammer, it was wired together with an 1816 frizzen. The frizzen is listed in the following auction.
