This Matra Talbot Murena is a left hand drive, mid engine 3 seater
sport coupe made in the early 1980's. Various changes and updates have been
made during its life and it is currently fitted with a Peugeot/Citroen 1.9 MI
16 engine.
I bought this car about 8 years ago with the intention of
finishing and using it but have not had the time required to finish it.
Therefore I have decided to sell to give someone else the opportunity to own
and restore this individual are rare car.
Other points you need to know:
I have the V5 registered in my name, receipts from work done and a workshop manual.
I did have the vehicle running about 4 years ago. The last time I connected it to a battery and tried to start it, a few months ago, all it would do was turn over!
The car is powered by the MI 16 engine with a modified inlet manifold and a 4 in to 1 exhaust manifold with a stainless steal back box. It also has a chipped ECU.
The radiator has been replaced at some point along with the cooling pipes, which have been replaced with stainless steel versions.
The rear trailing arms have been replaced at some point and are solid, this is a positive as these are known to rust.
Adjustable coil over shocks all-round.
The body work is fibreglass, it is sound but needs rubbing down and painting as it has faded and the paint is flaking in places due to time and conditions.
The chassis is galvanised steel from new, it also has a good coating of under seal and is still solid.
It comes with a large number of
spares including; MI 16 manifolds, ECU hoses, mirrors, headlights and other
small engine parts (as shown in the photos).
This car will need to be collected with
a trailer
