"I have worked full time as an artist since 1995 and have enjoyed gallery relationships for the past 20 years. I have also taught many art classes and have enjoyed my found profession greatly.

I have always been intrigued by space and light and found the natural outlet was to paint landscapes.  So I borrowed ideas from the Hudson River School, the Barbizon and Dutch landscape painters, and began getting down on canvas the quickly disappearing agricultural areas of Orange County. Many days would find me painting on location or merely standing in a field looking and breathing in the fragrance of orange blossoms and feeling as though I was peering back in time. The paintings I made were decidedly romantic to heighten the impending loss of those open spaces. In Idaho you merely have to go out your back door and you are surrounded by open space. These paintings I am doing for Daily Dose of Paintings have forced me back into these beautiful places and I am seeing more of the beauty directly around me. It has been a welcome challenge."
