We have had this Dandy for 5 happy years. We bought it to replace a huge twin axle caravan because we moved and had nowhere to keep it (plus we downsized to a much smaller car). The Dandy fits easily in our front garden, it is a delight to tow even in horrible weather. Among the other great features we have loved about it are the way you can take it up or down in the rain without anything getting wet or mouldy. The combination of the insulation and heating means we have been camping comfortably even late in autumn and early in spring with heavy frosts outside. We are selling as our needs have changed as our kids have now grown up and have left (or are leaving) home. We have had many great holidays in the Dandy to France and the Netherlands as well as all over the UK throughout the year. Usually we have had three of us sleeping inside with anyone else sleeping in tents (although once we ended up with 6 sleeping inside because all the tent sleepers decided it was too cold). The new suspension (fitted by Dandy Riva Sales) and stabilizer hitch have improved the already impressive stability when towing. Speed bumps and ferry ramps are now no problem and there is plenty of spare weight capacity for luggage inside or on top of the Dandy. We fitted all new lighting for the road because we found the old lights becoming unreliable. The new lights are all LED's and both look great and are really bright. They should also prove much more reliable. The gas struts on the beds (also fitted by Dandy Riva Sales) make it much easier for one person to put the Dandy up or take it down as they take all the weight of the beds. We have both the original cover (with one repair) and a new dark blue cover (for maximum protection we keep both on during the winter). All the original furniture is inside apart from the table, we found it was very heavy and the leg kept getting stuck in the socket in the floor. |
