A rare 1932 Winchester caravan,This was the last canvas roofed model before producing them in aluminium. It has only had three owners from new. The first owner having taken abroad many times, originally towed by a Rolls Royce to Africa (we have a black and white photograph tucked away) It was barn stored for several years in the West Country. I have towed it many times and is light and well balanced, tyres look fine with plenty of tread. It was recanvased about five years ago and is due for another canvasing, this time using a finer duck canvas. It is fabricated in in board and oak slatting throughout, and looks more tudor bethan than a state of the art caravan of the Art Deco era. However the sink was in luxurious stainless steel, it also had electric lighting...from a battery, it has a parafin Tilley style cooker (not used) and an unusual axel lowering system adjusted from the inside. It is 12 ft long excluding the drawer bar and a modern 50mm towball....(electrics should be checked) as we have used a standard towing board. Whilst it is painted regularly, it could be stripped back and sprayed properly. It is very solid underneath. There are a plenty of cupboards, a wardrobe, drawers, plate rack, the wardrobe doors (with mirror) opens to divide the caravan bedroom and kitchen dining area. It is 2/ 3 berth, the slatted bed pushes back to creat a bench seat and the table folds up to the wall for the night.. It has a later skylight fitted which is dry and bright. There are two joinery jobs to do on the windows. A repair where the  stable door blew back and two old repairs on the back curve is evident. Please come and view before bidding.
