For your consideration is an Antique Door Knocker in the form of a Pug Dog.  This toy breed is also know as the Mini Mastiff & Dutch Bulldog.  The door knocker features a hammered strike plate and has been constructed of solid brass & not brass plate (tested with a magnet).  It's size is class Edwardian: unassuming, unpretentious & modest.  An Edwardian door knocker won't overwhelm your door and were often used indoors on bedroom and vanity doors.  The door knocker is not new.  It is a salvaged item and has patina due to age and remnants of hundred-year-old varnish.  Varnish was applied to seal the brass and provided a longer lasting shine (a common practice).  Overall condition is excellent.  Go ahead... buy it, install it & make your neighbors jealous!
