This c1905 Ansonia Model Rosalind Mantel Clock has an Ansonia signed and patent dated 1882 time and strike 8 day movement and a large 5 1/2" diameter signed porcelain dial with a beveled glass lens and cast brass bezel. The clock makes an excellent appearance and appears to have been well taken care of but, as should be expected on an antique clock, it has some minor paint chips and wear to the finish that does not detract. The black enameled finish is nicely polished and retains its original gold highlights. The applied ornaments and decorative trim have lost most of their original finish and now have a beautiful patina that can only come with age. The right side nude figure has lost the star shaped ornament on the back side and both back side star retainers have been replaced with a nut. This is not readily noticed and does not detract from the clocks appearance . The large 5 1/2" diameter porcelain dial is excellent and bears both the Ansonia trademark and name. Note the ornate cast brass bezel and beveled glass lens. The Ansonia signed and patent dated movement looks clean and is running and striking properly. This nice size iron clock is approximately 15 1/4" wide x 12" high x 5 1/4" deep. This is an excellent clock to add to any clock collection as well as a beautiful decorator clock. The Ansonia Model Rosalind has always been a very desirable model and is an excellent investment clock! This is a running clock but like all the clocks we sell it is being sold as as found.
