This fine 19th century oil on canvas after the important Spanish Baroque painter, Bartolome Murillo (1617-1682), depicts two young beggar boys eating mellons and grapes. Stretcher measures 12.5 by 15.4 in, and the frame measures 17.7 by 20.7 in (52.6 by 45 cm). Signed indistinctly in the lower left corner. Craquelure is modest and consistent with age. There is an old professional restoration near the lower right corner. Canvas will beneft from a professional cleaning. (We will be happy to recommend a conservator here in New York.)
