sparkling gorgeous original condition , never tumbled ,, scattered light surface wear with a few scratches and light scuffs ,, picture number 2 shows a small scrape , or flake ,,, only mark on the bottle that won't tumble away ,, it needs nothing , rare ,,  goopey and stunning as is.

here's a rare and sought after 1880's cobalt medicine bottle in excellent condition.   it stands 7 and 1/2 inches tall and is embossed on both arched and inset side panels,, one with " SANFORD'S " ,, and the other with " RADICAL CURE ".   it has a beautiful goopey square band lip full of string ribbons and covered with fine wavy wrinkles that look wet to the touch.  the entire bottle has a nice mottled orange peel whittle and small bubbles scattered throughout.   sunken wavy panels give it a shimmer and the color is a strong , brilliant cobalt blue with a little saphire up near the shoulders.  under the gloppy pudding base is a circle indent with a "2" embossed inside of it.   this is a different variant than most ive seen.  with most of these there is a larger circle under the base which is embossed with " WEEKS & POTTER --- BOSTON --- U.S.A. ".   i'm looking at one right now.  also the letters are a bit smaller with this one.   condition is better than excellent,  aside from the flaw in picture # 2 there is scattered thin scratches and a few small visible scuffs, general scattered surface wear.    on closer examination i believe it's possible the bottle was at some point cleaned but if so it was lightly.  it displays beautifully as is but would make it to near mint with a light roll to wipe off the surface wear.   an uncommon variant of this crude old cobalt medicine.    good luck !!!
