This lovely Bronze by Henri Godet (1863-1937) is one of his more famous pieces. It is called "Coquelicot". It is signed inscribed into the bronze H. Godet and dated 93. The bronze depicts a girl, coming into "flower" with a lovely smile on her face. She emerges from the flower and has a few petals on her head. The red marble base is original to the piece and has a chip and looks like it has been repaired at some point. It is not very visible to the naked eye. There is also a chip to the base. The bronze has been gilded and there is some loss of the gilding as well. I believe this is an original piece, from 1893, and it has survived with a few blemishes. All in all a very charming and original piece.

Measurements are:  9" tall including the base,  5" diameter.
