Absolutely Beautiful Crisp Cotton Vintage and Original 1950's Pink Roses Dress. Superb bright crisp cotton. Dress weighs approx 420 g. Pretty as a picture. As far as I can tell, this is a very well-made home-made frock. Recent purchase that sadly is too snug for me :( The dress has had to be pegged against the dummy as it is too small- please bear this in mind when looking at the pictures. Dress has short sleeves and a fitted bodice. Bright pink bow at front and fabric covered matching buttons on the bodice. Pretty self-fabric half belt at sides that pulls waist in nicely at the back. Lovely full crisp and swishy skirt, with small pleats at waist. The dress does up at the side with a professionally replaced metal zip and the three buttons on the bodice. Pretty vibrant bright pink roses print, with bright green cross-hatched panels on a white background. Small / medium size. Approx Size 8 10 / snugg 12. However, please refer to measurements below to ensure a good fit. Approx measurements are as follows: Armpit to armpit 36 ". Waist 27 1/2" Hips -Full Length 40 3/4" . Dress has no hem allowance at all and is machine sewn. Sleeve edge to armpit- 1 1/2'' In excellent clean wearable vintage condition. When I purchased this dress the zip needed to be replaced- which has been professionally done. The pink buttons on the bodice had rusted so I colour-matched the fabric and added new covered buttons- I will include the rest of the ( colour-fast) fabric if you wish to cover different shaped buttons. The buckle on the half belt has some light rust marks ( see pic) , which I would have not done anything about if the dress had fitted me and I would have worn it as it is... But if required the pink fabric included could also be used to cover a replacement buckle. The dress has three marks on the skirt, which are hidden by the print and the folds of the skirt- see last pics. There is also a mark above the top button- if it bothers you the top corner of the bodice could be stitched over to hide it. See pics 7 and 8 for the mark and turned over corner.
