An extremely rare Laura Ashley dress from the workshop in Wales during the 1970s. I personally have never seen a dress exactly like this and I have been collecting and selling vintage Laura Ashley for a while now. I have tried to research the pattern but have had very little luck. Maybe as the new owner it might be fun to contact the archive to find out. All I know that the dress is so beautiful I could hardly breathe when I found it. The photos don't really do it justice.
The dress itself is in a prairie style complete with the iconic high neck, frill on the skirt, puff sleeves, large cuffs and a sash to tie at the waist at the front or back (because it is not attached).
The unusual thing about the dress is not only the fact that it is made in the most fabulously soft fine needle cord, it also has a very rare design (which I have called heraldic but I am sure that is not the correct name).
It is not only beautiful but is also very wearable. Imagine wearing in the colder Autumn months with gorgeous boots and a lovely long scarf. The colour is a very rich dark opulent orange with a brown print.
Many collectors are even keeping dresses like these in their own archives. I could talk for many hours about this dress because I adore it so much. So please grab it before I change my mind and decide to keep it for myself!
In excellent condition apart from some small areas of slight discolouration which is not terribly noticeable when worn.
