Butterick Dressmaker's Paper Sewing Pattern

The 'walkaway dress' is a pattern which was featured in TV's The Great British Sewing Bee ( Episode 3 on 19-02-15) It was called the "walkaway" dress because it was so easy that you could "start it after breakfast and walkaway in it by lunchtime" It was incredibly popular when it was first released and the demand is high for this version too!
Very Easy to Sew We think it is very easy to make as it is only has 3 pattern pieces. It is not like a traditional dress which has sewn side seams, it wraps from front to back, then back to front and buttons up at the front. So it is more flexible for size variation and therefore more accommodating for any sewing errors!
| MISSES’ WRAP DRESS: Three pattern pieces, darted in front and back, with back waist and shoulder seams. Back wraps around to the front for a sheath-and-overskirt look. A: contrast back and skirt. Bias tape finished edges. |
| NOTIONS: Dress A, B: Three Packages of 1/2" Double Fold Bias Tape and 3/8" Snaps. Also for A: Two 7/8" Buttons. For B: One 7/8" Button and Three 5/8" Buttons. |
| FABRICS: Lightweight Broadcloth, Lightweight Piqué, Lightweight Linen and Taffeta. Unsuitable for obvious diagonals. Allow extra fabric to match plaids or stripes. Use nap yardages/layouts for pile, shaded or one-way design fabrics. *with nap. **without nap. |
Combinations: BB(8-10-12-14), FF(16-18-20-22)

The Size ranges are split into two separate Packs - by U.S Pattern Sizing;
Pack Size BB (8-10-12-14) U.S.
or
Pack Size FF (16-18-20-22) U.S.
Pattern Sizing should be used for reference only
