You are bidding on a rare beast. This laptop is a Power Series 800 IBM ThinkPad. If you have always wanted to own a portable piece of hardware that can run AIX, then your day has finally come! 

Here is what I know:

  • AIX 4.1.4.0 installed
  • I can't manage to get the integrated camera to work, but I didn't try too hard and I'm not exactly sure what the intended purpose of the camera was. 
  • Boots just fine when powered with the original power cord. The battery is no longer functional.
  • CD in the drive is "Value Option for AIX V4.1.5"
  • The hardware has been in a drawer in my house for years. The wife is finally making me get rid of it.
