About this remote

This part is a replacement remote control that is compatible with the UMC S 17/1. Unlike other brands of replacement remotes, it does not require end-user programming*. Simply put in the enclosed batteries and the remote will operate the UMC S 17/1.

Functionality

This remote has been designed to fully operate all the fixed button functions of the original infra-red (IR) remote control for the UMC S 17/1.

If this model is available with both a standard IR remote and a radio frequency (RF) remote (e.g. with touchpad, voice control, or pointing technology), this replacement remote will fully reproduce the functions available on the standard IR remote. Touchpad, voice-control, or pointing technology is not included in this replacement part. Where the original remote has reprogrammable keys for operating other devices connected to the UMC S 17/1, this replacement remote does not provide this functionality.

Button layout and appearance

This replacement remote control will have visible differences from the original UMC remote. It may be of a different colour to the original remote but the necessary buttons should all be available. The buttons may be laid out on the remote in a different order to the original. Where key positions are notably different to the original, a paper user guide is provided with the remote.
