For sale is this immaculate DYNATRON SRX radio receiver and record player with a pair of external vintage Wharfedale Linton 2 speakers.

*Collection in person or courier option available*

If you are enjoying the recent revival of vinyl, this original 1970's record player unit will make a really stylish and functional addition to your home.

Dynatron Ltd was originally established by the well renown Hacker brothers of Hacker radio fame and were regarded by some as THE makers of top of the range music centres.
This model is one of the SRX series; namely the SRX24C Transpower - Ether Stereo sold in the 1970's.
This one for sale is in excellent condition and has been fully restored to its former glory both cosmetically and functionally - making this a rare example of its type.

The record deck is a top of the range GARRARD 2025-TC autochanger that can be set to play at 3 different speeds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm.  The multi-record stacking mechanism is fully functional and each record will automatically drop onto the platter to be played. This model automatically detects the size of the record and adjusts the start position of the tonearm accordingly to play records of 12, 10 or 7". At the end of the record the tonearm will return to the rest position and the next record will drop. Each record can also be stopped at any time using the AUTO switch. Single records can also be played in AUTO mode or play can be started and stopped manually using the finger lift and soft drop pick up lever.

The SRX24C tuner is a STEREO model suitable for VHF, MW and LW broadcasts. As a top of the range model there is also a visual display of signal strength and Stereo indicator light. The SRX also has a setting for an external source that can be attached via a plug at the back.

FULLY SERVICED AND RESTORED
The deck has been fully refurbished and is in excellent working order.
All knobs and switches have been cleaned and lubricated and are freely moving and fully working.
Volume, treble and bass controls all work and sound comes from both the left and right hand speakers.
The turntable has been stripped down, cleaned and lubricated and spins freely. The pick-up arm is fitted with it's original Sonotone 9TA HC high compliance cartridge and comes with a brand new sono-flex flip-over stylus

This is a fully transistorised tuner rather than one of the more temperamental valve amplifier systems commonly found in the 1950 and 60's. A number of transistors and fuses have been checked and replaced as part of the servicing.

The cabinet itself is covered in a teak veneer and in brilliant cosmetic condition with no scratches or heat rings on any of the surfaces. On the right hand side there is some colour variation in the veneer (see high resolution photos). The lid is partly perspex which is in excellent condition with no cracks or scratches.

To match the high quality of the Dynatron this sale also comes with two top quality vintage speakers; a pair of original Wharfedale Linton 2 bookcase speakers (including tweeter and woofer). These speakers can be positioned upright or on their sides (the logo swivels to match their position). The speaker cabling has been replaced with 5 metres of professional high grade low resistance cabling with new 2-plug DIN connectors fitted.

Records can be shown playing and you are very welcome to listen before you buy or check out our short demo video on you tube.
