Music Reference RM-9 stereo tube amplifier Mark I

This is Roger Modjeski's classic 100wpc tube amplifier from the 80's. Many believe it features superior output transformers to the Mark II, which came out a few years later. It has the 2ohm tap which Roger added  to provide lower voltage to speakers like the Quad ESL-57. It also has 4 and 8 ohm taps for more common speakers. I used this amp for many years with Magnepan MG 1.6 speakers with excellent results as well as Mirage and other speaker systems. The amp also has the adjustable gain control (low, med, high) to optimise the output level with the preamp. The eight RAM/Siemens/German EL34 power tubes which still bias strong and sound great. I've used many different brands of tubes in this amp over the years and the orginal German tubes still sound the best, which the amp was originally voiced and designed with. The four 6922  input tubes are RAM/Sovtek.

I have a double box and packing which Roger sent me when I had the amp serviced by him a few years ago. He replaced a few resistors and brough the amp back up to speck. I am the 2nd owner and have had this amp in my personal collection for over 13 years. The original power switch has been upgraded to a good solid  rocker type switch. The overall condition is excellent; there are a couple scratches on the top plate from the removal of the tube cage by previous owner. The oak base is beautiful. It's is the nicest original RM-9 I've come across, which is why I've kept it for so long. It's a wonderful modern detailed sounding tube amp, which also looks incredible when the tubes are lite up, like a candelabra of sound.
