"I use a Nikon D300. In the past I have tested a few Compact Flash chips including a Sandisk Extreme IV which was supposed to be faster than God at the time it first appeared. Unfortunately, it couldn't beat my lowly no name 280X 8gb OEM Samsung Compact Flash and I immediately re-sold it.

 

The PixelFlash blew the doors off of the Samsung being at least 100% faster reading and feeling at least 50% writing. I don't "time" things as many other do, because throughput to me is a function of flow - as in how long is this process holding me up.

 

The PixelFlash technology allows me to flow through shooting, getting it up on the screen and back to shooting with almost no waiting. In fact, by the time I hook up the camera to the computer - my pics are ready to download. I have always had to wait 5-10 seconds with the Samsung. When I'm testing lenses, white balances, etc - the flash card has always interrupted the flow. Not with the PixelFlash.

 

Also, please understand I am speaking of camera to computer exchanges as I tend to shoot in many short sessions and download immediately many times. Shooting this way, I don't believe in constantly removing the Compact Flash chip -- inserting it in a reader --- and re-installing it in the camera. For me, this can not lead to longevity. Therefore, I am pretty confident about speaking about throughput speeds when using Compact Flash in this fashion."
