Here is a very attractive picture or photograph frame. I bought it from an antiques fair and though it looks the part, it is actually a repro of something from a bygone era. The frame is quite heavy and probably made from plaster or such like which has been given a gilt coloured coating. The blue background of the frame is made from a hard material and has a look of enamel. The back of the frame has an easel stand and a hook so it can be put on the wall or could stand on a surface. The frame came with this pretty picture of a courting couple which suits the frame just fine. (The picture however is only a cut out and is nothing special.)
The frame measures 6 x 4.25 inches. It is in fairly decent condition though there is a chip to the plaster at the edge of the right hand side (bottom third on picture 1). Though this is a reproduction, it has a bit of age to it and there has been a bit of a build up of dirt on the blue surround. Most of this has come off but there is still a little bit around the top of the frame near the swags. Thanks for checking this out! |
